Have a look at the athletic field plans
UPDATE: Apparently the plans are hard to read. Here are links to some PDF files [LHS][1] [Free State][1]We've heard from some people that they haven't seen adequate representations of what the new athletic fields at Lawrence High and Free State High will look like. Well, now's your chance.C.L. Maurer, a landscape architect at Landplan Engineering, which is leading the project, dropped off some colorful, aerial views of the plans, and I'm posting them here for you to see.LHS: ![][2]Free State ![][3] [1]: http://www.scribd.com/share/upload/4726255/2o8pngyku2pxz25c9ozo [2]: http://media.lawrence.com/img/news/do..." width="640" height="373 [3]: http://media.lawrence.com/img/news/do..." width="640" height="394

I so wish these weren't compressed this much. Even viewing the image as big as I can, I can only read some of the legend.

"They're turning free state's band field into a parking lot??"Most bands don't have their own field. most bands get to march on the football field. SO if it gets updated, the band should be able to march on it.

Good thing we're building two football stadiums that will each only be used what, four or five nights a year? I love how this project was initially inspired by Topeka and JoCo's consolidated facilities and has ballooned into two multi-million dollar facilities.

Both schools already had existing football fields. They are just being updated and you can't update one school without the other. There isn't any place you can build one field for both schools at the moment. Maybe another point in time the city can build a complex for the city. Would be great to be able to host bigger and better tournaments.
