See yourself in a yearbook photo from any decade

Today and tomorrow are yearbook picture days at West Junior High and that got me thinking.I used to dread those school pictures, especially in that awkward stage known as “middle school.” Braces, bad hair … the list goes on. (You’re lucky all of my yearbooks are at my parents’ house. They’re not pleasant.) On top of that, I’m just not photogenic. Jennifer Aniston? Pret-ty, pre-ty good. Me? Not so much. ! (I’m on the right. The other girl is Erin Castaneda, a general assignment reporter. We were at Allen Fieldhouse reporting on the Final Four. Obviously, a big moment. Erin, don’t hurt me.)Anyway, during my daily blog rounds, I found this: Yearbook Yourself. You can upload a picture (keep it under 1 megabyte) and put yourself in any yearbook in any decade. It’s hysterical. (And don’t worry about what mall you choose – it just determines what advertisers you’ll see.)Take a gander — 1966 1970 1974 1982 1994And I’m glad I grew up in the 1990s.Do you have any embarrassing yearbook day stories?Don’t forget to play with Yearbook Yourself and feel free to post your “Homeroom Pages” on the comment board so we can all see your journey through the yearbook decades.
