September 29th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up
Lawrence Police arrived on scene of a single vehicle accident near the intersection of E 15th and Pennsylvania Streets at 1:05 this morning. Officers found that the driver of the vehicle had ran from the crashed mini van. The vehicle was said to be "on its side and on top of a tree." A backseat passenger was found inside the vehicle with serious injuries, she was not believed to have been wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. LDCFM crews responded and the victim, a "21-year-old female", was transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center, just after 2 a.m., by a LifeStar helicopter. Police located and arrested the vehicle's driver a few hours later. More information on this accident can be found here from Operation 100 News, or here from the Lawrence Journal-World.
