September 21st Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

At 1:54, Lawrence Police reported being involved in a foot chase with an alleged “instigator” in a battery near 12th and Tennessee Streets. Officers caught up with their suspect a few minutes later in the 1200 block of Louisiana Street. A medic unit was sent to the scene and transported a male, said to be in his early 20’s, to LMH. His injuries were not said to be serious and were believed to have been related to the fight that the man himself was believed to have instigated. Those injures reportedly included several lacerations to the face and a sore jaw. The man was later booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Obstruction of the Legal Process.

Baldwin City Police responded on possible burglary at 1:59 this morning. The caller reported hearing someone turning an exterior doorknob. Police, along with a County Deputy, responded on the call and did not report locating anyone in the area. There were no reports of any damage or confirmed burglaries.

Lawrence Police responded on a report of a disturbance with weapons in the 500 block of W 14th Street. A caller reported a man armed with a knife was “making threats” in a parking lot. Officers reported locating a man in the parking lot however, no arrests were recorded related to the incident.

At 7:30, Lawrence Police were called to an address in the 1000 block of Maine Street after a caller reported seeing an unknown man climbing out of his roommate’s parked van. The man was only described as appearing to be intoxicated and “bloody.” Officers responded and found the man at the front door of the address. Medics were requested to the scene but, did not transport anyone from that scene. Police reported that the man was indeed intoxicated. No arrests have been recorded related to the call.
