Police conducted a vehicle stop in the 900 block of Vermont Street at 2:08 a.m.. The female driver was arrested after officers learned that she was driving without a valid license and no insurance.
Just before 3:30 a.m., officers were called to a business in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street after employees noticed their tip jar had been stolen. Employees told officers they believed the theft had occurred sometime within the passed two hours, they also believed the incident was captured by a surveillance camera. There was no information on the suspect.
At 3:51 a.m., Lawrence Police were called to the 500 block of Colorado after a resident reported someone walking through a parking lot looking into vehicles and attempting to open vehicle doors. One person was arrested and has been booked into the County Jail on a Burglary of a Vehicle charge. The suspect also faces charges for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and two charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. One of the two controlled substance charges is a felony, the others are misdemeanors.
At 6:47 a.m., Police responded on a reported burglary at an address in the 1800 block of Alabama. The caller seemed to be unsure of when exactly the incident occurred but, believed that the suspect had damaged a back window of the residence. The resident also told officers that the suspect was a black male wearing a stocking cap. No other details were available.
Just after 7 a.m., Johnson County first responders were called to an injury accident, possibly a crossover crash, in the westbound lanes of K-10 near Kill Creek Road near De Soto. A total of four people were injured, one critically, two seriously, and one with minor injuries. The person with minor injuries refused medical treatment, all others were transported to Kansas City area hospitals.
