May 14th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Lawrence Police responded on a report of a battery in the 1100 block of N 3rd Street at 2:20 a.m.. Officers reported that a subject had battered another, damaged some property, set off a fire alarm and been on the property illegally. That subject was arrested and faces charges for all of the offenses. No serious injuries were reported.

Officers recorded one OUI related arrest this morning in the 1000 block of Connecticut Street. Police also responded on four disturbances, a total of two arrests were recorded related to those disturbances.

KUPD, along with LDCFM, helped a person who was trapped in an elevator on campus. The elevator reportedly stopped between floors, trapping the person inside. That person was quickly rescued from inside and did not report any injuries.
