Another fairly quiet morning in Douglas County.
Police in Lawrence responded on one noise complaint, four disturbances and conducted two vehicle stops.
Two of the disturbances were said to be domestic related with one of those resulting in a Domestic Battery arrest. Another of the disturbances was related to some criminal damage to property and threats. That suspect was also arrested.
Shortly after 5 a.m., Leavenworth County EMS responded on an injury accident on Highway 24/40 near mile marker 401, near Reno Township. Emergency crews reported the accident was a single tractor trailer which had gone off of the roadway into a ditch. The driver was injured, his injuries were not said to be life threatening. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
The Journal-World followed up on a story which was reported in yesterday's blog, regarding the attempted robbery of the Dillions in the 1000 block of W 23rd Street. More on that story can be found here.
Today is Day 4 of Severe Weather Awareness Week. Today the National Weather Service encourages the public to learn more about and prepare for damaging winds and strong hail. More information can be found here from Operation 100 News.
