June 30th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Lawrence Police conducted 11 vehicles stops this morning, one OUI related arrest. KUPD also conducted several vehicle vehicle stops with one resulting in an OUI arrest.

Police also responded on a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1400 block of Apple Lane. One caller reported a female was hit and possibly had broken her jaw. LDCFM staged nearby until Police could secure the scene. Police arrived on scene and reported that two males were reported to have ran from the scene. Officers established a perimeter and were able to locate one male, who was only believed to be a witness, in the 1200 block of Jana Drive. That male was not reportedly “stepped into the domestic” to defend the female who was hit, when that man learned someone had called Police he ran. He has been booked into the County Jail on a charge Obstruction of the legal process. The male who allegedly struck the female remains at large as of last check. It sounded as though Police know who they are looking for. The female was not transported from the scene by Medics.

None of this morning’s activity was reported to have resulted in any serious injuries.
