June 20th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Deputies on the north side of Lecompton reported arresting two people who were said to be tampering with railroad equipment. The arrests occurred shortly before 3 a.m., without many details provided over the radio. Both suspects, a male and female from the Topeka area, were booked into the Douglas County Jail where they both face several charges including; Trespassing on a Railroad Right of Way, Tampering with a Traffic Signal, and Criminal damage to Property.
Police in Lawrence conducted seven vehicle stops this morning, two resulting in arrests. The first arrest was OUI related and the second was said to be for a warrant, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Officers also responded on one medical emergency with LDCFM.
None of this morning's activity was reported to have resulted in any serious injuries.

My guess is the people in Lecompton were attempting to steal copper/metal and were dumb enough to be caught. Good !!!!
