June 16th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Police in Lawrence conducted five vehicle stops this morning, with one resulting in an OUI related arrest. The Kansas Highway Patrol also reported making a DWI related arrest in the EB lanes of I-70 near milepost 203.

Around 3 a.m., Eudora Police reported a vehicle eastbound on K-10 in excess of 80 miles per hour. Officers were not able to catch up with that vehicle. Johnson County Deputies checked their side of county line and were not able to locate the vehicle.

The rest of this morning was fairly normal for an early Saturday, a few small disturbances and one noise complaint.

Just before 7:30 a.m., LDCFM was dispatched to respond on an injury accident in the 100 block of Highway 40 in Lecompton. A caller to 911 reported that a motorcycle had struck a deer. The subject on the motorcycle was said to be unconscious at that time. Fire/Medical arrived and reported that the patient was now conscious. A LifeNet Medical helicopter was initially requested and then told to disregard. The injured person was transported to Stormont-Vail in Topeka by ground and was said to be in critical condition.
