July 4th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

A little bit more activity early this morning in Douglas County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Lawrence Police each recorded DWI/OUI related arrests in the 2 a.m. hour.

Around 3:45 a.m., a Lawrence Officer transporting a prisoner to the County Jail reported a non-injury accident near 19th and Haskell. That Officer reported one of the involved vehicles airbags had deployed and confirmed that no one was injured.

Shortly after 6:40 a.m., Fire/Medical and Police responded to the Amtrack depot for a person on board an approaching passenger train who was believed to be suffering from food poisoning.

Officers also investigated at least three disturbances and two noise complaints. None of this morning’s activity was reported to have involved any serious injuries.

The Heat Advisory, issued yesterday, remains in effect until 8 p.m. tonight. More information on the Heat Advisory can be found here from the National Weather Service offices in Topeka.

The activity blogged here is only a sampling of some of the things that Douglas County Law Enforcement and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical respond on.
