February 29th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

After last night’s severe weather passed through the area things quieted down considerably in Douglas County. Shortly before midnight, Police were directing traffic at one intersection due to a power outage. Officers also removed some tree debris from the roadway in the 500 block of Mississippi just before 2 a.m..

Lawrence Police responded on a total of six burglary alarms, several of which activated multiple times. An alarm in the 1900 block of University Drive sounded twice, along with one in the 4600 block of W 6th Street. All were reported to be false alarms, possibly related to the gusty winds.

Officers responded on two noise complaints and three disturbances. One of the disturbances resulted in an arrest being made in the 1400 block of Tennessee Street. No serious injuries were reported.

LDCFM ran about four medical emergency related calls this morning, again no serious injuries were reported.
