February 22nd Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up
Police conducted a bar check in the 600 block of Massachusetts street just after midnight, one citation was written for an alcohol violation.
Officers responded on a noise complaint in the 1000 block of Massachusetts, also just after midnight. While Police were at that address, one subject was located with an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Another subject at the address was arrested for disorderly conduct. It was unclear if there was a disturbance at the address or what led to the disorderly conduct arrest.
Lawrence Police responded on a number of disturbances this morning, one involving an Officer being assaulted.
At 2:09 a.m., Officers responded to an address in the 800 block of Louisiana after a man called 911, yelled for the Police to respond and then hung up the phone. Officers spoke with the man and determined that there was not an emergency at the address. The same man again called 911, just after 3:30 a.m.. Again, Officers responded to the address where the man was now claiming to be suffering from a medical emergency. It is unclear what transpired while Police were on scene but, at one point an Officer called out for emergency backup to the address. The man was taken into custody for Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. Medics responded to the address, no one was transported away from that scene by the medics.
Lawrence Police also reported two DUI related arrests. One of which was reported to be the man's third DUI related offense.
None of this mornings activity involved the use of any weapons or resulted in any serious injuries.
