February 21st Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Last night’s storm and power outage that followed knocked my usual scanner feed out of commission for this morning. I was left struggling with reception issues to monitor Douglas County Law Enforcement.

The majority of the night was fairly quiet. Officers in Lawrence conducted a couple of vehicle stops. Police were called out to several disturbances.

First of the disturbances was just after midnight in the 100 block of Indian Avenue. My reception issues led to few details heard as to what exactly the disturbance involved. However, it was clear that there had been a battery. The incident seemed to stem around a theft. Officers did report making an arrest related to the battery of a subject. No injuries were reported.

At 2:41 a.m., Officers were called to the 2100 block of Harvard Road after a report of an armed disturbance. One of the subjects was said to have been armed with a knife. Police requested LDCFM to respond for a person with some lacerations. Medics arrived and reported minor injuries. No one was transported from the scene by medics and Police did not report making any arrests in the incident.

Shortly after 3 a.m., Police responded to the 2500 block of Morningside Drive on reports of a disturbance. Again, due to my reception issue, few details were available. No injuries were reported and Police did report making one arrest in the matter.

The activity blogged here is only a sampling of some of the things that Douglas County Law Enforcement and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical respond on. To see a complete list of Lawrence Police activity, the department has that available on their website along with several easy to use maps that show approximate locations for Police activity.
