February 19th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

The Kansas Highway Patrol made two DUI arrests on the turnpike around 2:30 a.m. this morning. Both arrests occurred within about a mile of each other and only about 15 minutes apart.

Lawrence Police were called to investigate what the caller believed to be the sound of a single gunshot from the area south of 10th and Missouri Streets.

Just before 3 a.m., Lawrence Police observed a vehicle which was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of K-10. The officer was able to stop the vehicle near East Hills Drive. That driver was also taken into custody for DUI.

Eudora Police were called to check on a report of power lines down in the roadway in two locations. The first was reported to be near E 8th and Birch Streets, the second was at E 8th and Church. Police did not report any issues found.

Officers in Lawrence responded on a non-injury accident where the driver involved had fled the scene. Police were able to catch up with the suspect driver a short time later. He was arrested for leaving the scene of the accident.

Lawrence Police were called to investigate several disturbances and noise complaints. None of this morning’s activity resulted in any serious injuries.
