February 10th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

After 2 a.m., Police in Lawrence conducted five vehicle stops. At least one resulted in a DUI arrest.

Officers also responded on a Domestic Disturbance on Missouri Street where one person was arrested for Obstruction and Disorderly Conduct. No serious injuries were reported.

A few minutes after 4 a.m., Douglas County Deputies were called by a subject who reported that his vehicle had become stuck in a field ‘somewhere.’ The caller was unsure of where he was. After giving Emergency Dispatchers several locations where he thought he was, Deputies were able to locate the man and his vehicle near the intersection of N 900 Road and E 1500 Road, south of Lawrence. The man was taken into custody for DWI.

At 4:17 a.m., LDCFM and LPD were called to investigate a reported structure fire in the 2100 block of Kasold Drive. A caller reported that the fire alarms were sounding and there was a smoke odor. Fire crews arrived a short time later and reported that nothing was visible from the exterior of the building. Upon further investigation crews reported an overheated furnace odor. Firefighters remained on scene for about 30 minutes investigating the source. No damage or injuries were reported.

None of this mornings activity involved the use of any weapons or resulted in any serious injuries.
