Police in Lawrence responded on two disturbances this morning, both of which were reported to be domestic related. The first was reported just after 2:15 a.m., near the intersection of 6th and Arkansas Streets and resulted in an arrest for Domestic Battery.
The second disturbance was reported just after 2:45 a.m., in the area of Clinton Parkway and Lawrence Avenue. Initially the incident was only a 911 hangup call, when dispatchers called the number back they heard what they believed to possibly be a domestic disturbance. One of the involved people made comments regarding gunshots being fired and then mentioned a possible negative reaction to medication. After about 20 minutes, Officers, with the help of dispatchers, were able to talk both of the involved individuals out of the house. Officers did report recovering a firearm at the scene. One person was transported by Medics to LMH for evaluation. No one was reported to have been shot and there was no information regarding whether or not Police found damage from shots being fired inside the address. More than 10 officers were involved on the incident.
Around 3:30 a.m., Police responded to the 1100 block of New Jersey on reports of a possible prowler. The caller reported an unknown male in the alley looking into residences and vehicles using a flashlight. Officers responded and searched the area. No arrests and no damages were reported.
Officers and Deputies also conducted several vehicle stops, two of which resulted in DWI/OUI related arrests.
None of this morning's activity was reported to have involved any serious injuries.
