Everything was fairly quiet again this morning with no major accidents or incidents to report.
LDCFM had a pretty active morning with at least five medical emergencies.
Meanwhile, LPD responded on only one disturbance. Police did respond on three noise complaints and two reported thefts. One of the thefts was said to be of a vehicle, from the sound of radio traffic it sounded like more of a family dispute over a vehicle.
The Kansas Highway Patrol made a vehicle stop on N 3rd Street, just south of the east Lawrence toll-plaza around 2:30 a.m.. The female driver of the vehicle was determined to be DWI.
Ottawa County authorities the Kansas Department of Corrections continue searching for two men remain at large following a Wednesday morning jail break from the Ottawa County Detention Center in Minneapolis, Kansas. Four men overpowered a guard and fled the area. One was apprehended a short time later, another one of the men turned himself into Police at a Nebraska Walmart after nearly 13 hours on the run. The center the men escaped from is located approximately 20 miles north of Salina, Kansas. More on the two men who remain at large, can be found here from Operation 100 News.
The Kansas Department of Corrections also continues looking for an escaped, convicted sex offender, after he walked away from a minimum security job assignment at the Lansing Correctional Facility around 3 a.m. Wednesday. This same man is said to have escaped prison in the 1980's and was on the run for about five years. More on this escape can be found here from Operation 100 News.
