September 25th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Police had a fairly normal Saturday night/Sunday morning on their hands last night.

I started listening at 10:15 and I counted the following, in Lawrence;

15 – Noise complaints

35 – Vehicle Stops

2 – DUI Arrests

10 – Disturbances

4 – Fireworks complaints

None of the activity, that I heard, involved the use of weapons.

Around 12:30 a.m. a KU Public Safety Officer witnessed a subject fall out of the back of a small SUV near Corbin Hall on campus. The officer made contact with the subject, who stated he was okay, the officer then caught up with the SUV. Someone was taken into custody at that car stop, it was unclear if it was the driver or if it was related to what the officer witnessed. When a second officer contacted the subject who fell out of the back of the SUV, that subject was complaining of a head injury, Medic’s were requested to respond. Medics arrived and evaluated the injuries to be minor. That subject was intoxicated.

The activity blogged here is only a sampling of some of the things that Douglas County Law Enforcement and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical respond on. To see a complete list of Lawrence Police activity, the department has that available on their website along with several easy to use maps that show approximate locations for Police activity.
