October 26th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Lawrence Police were called to investigate a disturbance, reported to involve the use of a weapon. The weapon involved was said to be a BB Gun. The caller was a third party, not directly involved in the disturbance, who was receiving information about the disturbance through text messages. Apparently one person was shooting at another with the BB Gun. Police arrived and investigated the incident, no arrests were made. It was unclear whether or not the information Police initially received, regarding the BB Gun, was accurate or not. No injuries were reported.

Police also conducted a number of vehicle stops, responded on a few more disturbances and several noise complaints. At least one of the vehicle stops resulted in a DUI related arrest.

Saturday, October 29th is the National Take Back day for unused, unwanted and expired prescription drugs. There are two locations in Douglas County, one in Lawrence and another in Eudora, that will be taking part. Find more information about the initiative here.

On Monday, KDOT announced that more construction is scheduled to start on Monday, October 31st on K-10. The work is being called “Emergency project.” Learn more about this project here.
