Happy Mother’s Day

I have to start off this morning wishing all of the Mothers out there a Happy Mothers Day. Hope all of you have a great day.

In other news, the night started off with a serious accident near Baldwin City. The accident was reported just before midnight and was located in the 400 block of County Road 1055, just north of Baldwin City. LDCFM responded along with the Baldwin City Fire Department and Palmyra Township Fire. LifeStar Medical Helicopter responded to the airport in Vinland and transported the patient who was said to have serious injuries.

Meanwhile back in Lawrence, Police conducted a number of bar checks and wrote up several alcohol violations and made a couple DUI related arrests.

There was a report fireworks in the 300 block of Lyon Street, at about 12:15 a.m. Nothing unusual for a weekend in Lawrence.

One thing that I have not heard for a few weeks returned to the scanner at 5:15 a.m. this morning. Police were called to check the area of 1600 Haskell Avenue for a report of “Things in the air”. This type of call in that area are not unusual. Officers respond and whatever the caller believed he or she was seeing is gone. There are a couple different stories about what this whole thing is about. Even thought it is a recurring call, LPD still responds on it every time.
