Friday the 13th.

Fairly normal in Lawrence overnight, even for a Friday the 13th.

Police did not respond on much that was out of the ordinary last night. There were countless noise complaints all over the city. At least two complaints were called in twice due to music being turned up again after officers had cleared from the call. So Police returned for a second visit to have the music turned down again. Second time must have been all it took. I did not hear any third calls for the same addresses.

Animal Complaints were back in the calls overnight. Seemed to be mostly barking dog complaints with one complaint of a neighbors dog that had knocked over the callers trash can. Not really a reason to call the Police, in my opinion. The caller did not say what kind of dog it was but she did say that the dog was not vicious in the past.

Suspicious vehicle checks were conducted throughout the city. Several bar checks were also performed. As a result of these checks, several alcohol complaints were issued.

As reported here on the blog yesterday morning, there was a large power outage along US 56 Highway between western Johnson County and the east side of Baldwin City. LJWorld Photo Gallery
