July 9th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Lawrence Police were faced with another night busy with fireworks complaints. Not nearly as many as on the 4th but, there were about 11 complaints called in to Police from about 6 p.m. through 6 a.m.

Numerous disturbances and noise complaints. There were also several accidents overnight, one which involved minor injuries.

All in all a very quiet Friday night into Saturday morning for Douglas County.

At about 8:30 pm there were 6 police cars that I could see surrounding the 1700 block of Tennesseee. Couldn't see if any were on Ohio. Anybody have a clue what that was about?

And if this is your only source all you will know is that it was another in a long line of "quiet" or "uneventful" nights. Somehow when I check the jail log I seem to find all kinds of people arrested, but I guess they did all that without any radio traffic.

Didn't the JW provide information on how to access the dispatch call log recently?

the LJWorld didn't, but another reader posted it. Visit www.lawrencepolice.org, the calls are under "48 Hours of Calls" and they have a bunch of other cool maps showing crime, accidents, and tickets.

Ya, if you are looking for the local news you wont read it in the LJWorld! You can check the Topeka and Kansas City papers, they'll at least have the names of those arrested in there in their news stories!
