A very quiet night in Douglas County.

LDCFM along with two County Deputies responded on a reported grass fire in the 1300 block of North 924 Road. The Deputies arrived first to find a large bonfire with several subjects sitting around it. Emergency dispatchers advised that they did not have any record for a controlled burn in that area. The Palmyra Fire Department responded along with mutual aid from a few other township Fire Departments responded and extinguished the fire. It was unclear if anyone was ticketed.

Back in Lawrence it was extremely quiet as well. Police responded on many of the fairly routine calls for service for a Friday night. Noise complaints, a few small disturbances were the majority of the activity. Police did conduct several vehicle stops as well as responded on a non injury accident in the 2300 block of Iowa Street just before 3 a.m. this morning.
