July 16th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

A pretty high number of car stops overnight by Lawrence Police. LPD also responded on about the usual number of noise complaints for an early Saturday morning. A few more disturbances than usual, nothing that resulted in any serious injuries.

Police did respond on report of at least 10 subjects fighting near 14th and Ohio. One of the callers advised that the Bartender from The Hawk was outside trying to break up the subjects that were fighting. When LPD arrived the subjects quickly scattered.

LPD also responded to the 800 block of Massachusetts Street on reports of a male subject who had displayed a gun and a knife. Police arrived to investigate and the reporting party changed their story, or at least had second thoughts about whether or not the man had a knife or just a gun. The description of the man was vague at best. It was unclear whether or not Police were able to locate the man or not.

Again, the activity blogged here is only a sampling of some of the things that Douglas County Law Enforcement and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical respond on.
