December 1st Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Just before I started listening this morning at 2 a.m., Lawrence Police were called to investigate an armed robbery, as I was not listening when the incident was originally dispatched at 11:45 a.m., I am unable to say where the robbery occurred. Police records do show the address as the 4800 block of Bob Billings Parkway. From the sound of radio traffic, there were two suspects involved. At least one of them was armed with a handgun. It sounded like the suspects initially got away from the scene with a Cadillac, a television and some cash. The Cadillac was reportedly recovered, with the television and a weapon inside. That Cadillac was involved in a non-injury accident, near Bob Billings Parkway and Kasold Drive, where one suspect fled on foot. An officer spotted that male who was only described as a black male wearing a white hoodie. Officers were later referring to the subject by name. As far as I know, he remains at large this morning and Police believe they know who he is.

Another man was taken into custody after a vehicle pursuit which ended in a non-injury accident near 25th Street and Iowa Street. That vehicle pursuit was possibly related to the robbery, however I can not be completely sure of this. Fire/Medical responded to the scene of the accident to confirm that there were no injuries involved.

Around 3 a.m., Officers responded to the city parking garage in the 900 block of New Hampshire on a burglary.

Officers handled a domestic disturbance shortly after 4 a.m..

Emergency dispatchers received reports of gunshots heard in the area of the 2300 block of Hawthorne Drive, around 4:30 a.m.. At least three officers responded to that area and determined the sounds to be related to fireworks only.
