August 31st Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Just after 10 p.m. in Lawrence, LPD was called to the 300 block of Missouri Street to investigate a narcotics complaint. About 20 minutes later there was another narcotics investigation in the 500 block of Congressional Drive. Case numbers were pulled for both, beyond that there was nothing else available to report.

Most of the overnight activity was initiated by Officers. Vehicle stops and parking violations were the majority of the activity. Police were called to respond on a few disturbances.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. a LPD Officer spotted a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the river bridge north of 6th and Vermont. The driver was stopped once the vehicle reached the north end of the bridge. From the sound of it, the driver was unfamiliar with the road and turned onto the wrong bridge to cross over the river.

The activity blogged here is only a sampling of some of the things that Douglas County Law Enforcement and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical respond on. To see a complete list of Lawrence Police activity, the department has that available on their website along with several easy to use maps that show approximate locations for Police activity.
