August 1st Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up
Another quiet Sunday night throughout Douglas County.
Lawrence Police responded on a report of the sound of gunshots heard in the 2900 block of Chisholm Drive just before 11:30 p.m. Two people called 911 about what they believed to have been the sound of gunfire, both callers reported three or four shots heard. Police responded and checked the area, they were unable to locate anyone in the area.
Again, just after midnight Lawrence Police were called back the the same neighborhood as the earlier sound of gunshots call. This time only one person called 911 to report the shots and this caller was in the 3000 block of Topeka Lane, about a block west of the Chisholm Drive reports. Police responded again and were unable to locate anyone in the area.
The rest of the night was a lot of the fairly normal calls, disturbances, alarms, noise complaints and quite a few car stops. None of the overnight activity, that I heard, involved any weapons and nothing resulted in any serious injuries.
