Pretty quiet in Lawrence overnight.

Another fairly quiet and normal night in Douglas County. Police were called to the normal noise complaints across the city, a smell of marijuana complaint on the KU Campus and a few intrusion alarms that all ended up being false alarms.

Just before 2:30 this morning, Lawrence Police responded to a call of what one caller reported to be “a large group fighting” in the 2300blk of 24th Street. While responding dispatchers received a second call from a different caller who advised there were three males fighting in the parking lot of her apartment complex. Police arrived and found no one around. Searched the area and found no evidence of any property damage so back in service they went.

About 5:30, Lawrence Police were sent to the area of 1600 Haskell to investigate “Things in the air.” This is a fairly common early morning occurrence for Police. They send one Officer and nothing is found. The same was the case this morning.

All in all, a fairly routine overnight. There looks to be a chance of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon into the late evening hours. Just something to keep in mind when you head out this morning.
