Fairly normal Friday morning in Lawrence, with one exception. Shortly after 1 a.m. KU Police found a subject climbing on the side of Dyche Hall. Police attempted to make contact with the subject who at first refused to acknowledge the commands from officers. Lawrence Fire was requested to come and help retrieve the subject from the side of the building. Before the Fire Department was able to respond, the subject decided to obey Police and climb down from the building. The subject was cited for trespassing. It was unclear just how high up the side of the building the subject was when Police spotted him.
Lawrence Police responded to a report of a car stuck on the median at Clinton Parkway and Lake Pointe Drive at 3:30 a.m. They arrived to find a one car accident with the car high centered on the median. Lawrence Fire and Medical also responded and the driver was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
Police also responding on the normal number of noise complaints, disturbances, suspicious pedestrian checks and suspicious vehicle checks.
