Warmer Week After A Chilly Weekend

Here we go again! Chilly weather is putting a damper on our spring weekends! Temperatures will stay in the mid 50’s for Saturday and Sunday with showers likely for most of your Saturday. Pack the umbrellas if you are heading out early on Saturday with light rain possible to start the day. Showers will pick up for the afternoon with a rumble of thunder possible heading into the evening. Some scattered light rain may linger into the first part of your Sunday in Eastern Kansas before the whole system moves into Missouri.

Here is the good news for all of you warm weather lovers! Temperatures next week are trending into the 60’s for Monday and into the 70’s to near 80° by Thursday. The average in Lawrence for this time of year is 61° and will be 63° by the first of April.

One thing that is obvious in my neighborhood right now is the grass turning green. I’ve even heard a few of my neighbors firing up their lawn mowers. We are getting to the time of year where your gardens and lawns are going to need some attention. A good site to visit is the Douglas County Extension Office .
