Cool weather can mean just one thing … chili!

If you’ve been paying attention to the extended forecast lately, you’ve probably noticed the mention of some cooler temperatures moving our way at the end of the week. With the cooler weather approaching, there couldn’t be a better time to start thinking about chili and that’s just what Meteorologist Ed Bloodsworth and I did today.

The Topeka National Weather Service invited us to a chili lunch. I have to say, I was a little nervous at first. If you caught this video a little while back, Chief Meteorologist Matt Miller and I joined the NWS for a team-building exercise, which involved jumping from a pole (and for me, doing several flips in the air)!

Luckily, we did not have to jump from a pole. We were able to sit around, try some different types of chili and talk about our favorite subject, the weather!

They had everything from chicken noodle soup, to HOT chili, to traditional chili. I’ve even posted some photos below to make everyone hungry! Now that I’ve mentioned chili, I was wondering what the cold weather makes you think about! Please share your thoughts.
