Halloween shaking up to be clear, dry, but chilly

Sometimes, forecasting for a holiday or special event can be a little stressful.

Not because the forecast is more difficult, but because people tend to have more outdoor plans for holidays. It is never fun to forecast rain on the 4th of July, when there are parades or fireworks in almost every town!

This week I have been happy to forecast clear skies for Halloween. Now, if you have a little girl dressing up as Tinker Bell or Cinderella, you may want to pull out the tights or a sweater. It will be chilly, but it won’t be freezing. What type of weather can you expect for Halloween? Mostly clear skies, with temperatures in the middle 50s around 6 p.m., dropping into the upper 40s by 9 p.m, with winds around 5 to 10 mph.

Now that we know the weather won’t be miserable, the better questions: What are you, your family or your friends dressing up as this year? And, what is your favorite Halloween candy? I’m torn between butterfingers and candy corn!

Also, if you take any pictures of your carved pumpkins, decorations or Halloween costumes, email them to me and I’ll post them on the blog!
