I have found myself mentioning a “gloomy” forecast very often throughout the past month.

We always mention rain totals, but what about the number of rainy days? Even if a day started off sunny and beautiful, if we end up with any amount of rain, that’s what I tend to remember about the day.

Let’s put all of the rain totals aside and look at how many days this month we’ve had rain. For the month of October, 40 percent of the days have been wet, compared to 20 percent in September.

No wonder this month has seemed so gloomy to me!
