Lower temps: A pleasant way to end the weekend

So the front sweeps through and almost instantly, the whole area crawls out from the air conditioning and Northeast Kansas is outdoors again! What a difference the northerly winds have made. Earlier in the day, much of the area had highs in the middle 90s with heat indices over 100 again, but by dinner time it was gone!

The next couple days should be very nice. The best news is that even when we do heat back up a little next week, the humidity will not be as high as it was this past week. Maybe we’ll keep this drier air all the way to the 4th. Of course, I can already hear fireworks outside the studio as I type this, so I guess the 4th is already underway.
