In at least one respect, this New Year’s Eve will be unlike any in 20 years

According to the calendar, this New Year’s Eve you’ll be partying like it’s 1990. Literally.

It’s been that long since we’ve had a Blue Moon occur on New Year’s Eve. Since a Blue Moon is simply the second full moon of the month, any time we have a full moon on New Year’s Eve it has to be a Blue Moon. The last time it took place was in 1990.

If you miss the full moon/New Year’s Eve combo this year, you’ll have to wait until it cycles back around for New Year’s Eve 2028.

Hmmm. New Year’s Eve and a full moon. That’s going to be interesting!
