Winter tornado risk enhanced by El Niño for southeast U.S.

Late winter preparation for upcoming tornado systems is a part of living in plains.

While we deal with snow and ice in the winter, other parts of the country deal with the same threat we face in the spring. NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) released a story on their website this past Monday pertaining to winter, nighttime tornado outbreaks, and why they pose the greatest risk to human life.

It also goes into how our current cycle of El Niño can enhance this threat for the southeast United States.
