First Real Taste Of Fall

The rain showers that we picked up early on Monday morning have been the first true fall push that we have had this year. As of 7 a.m. we only picked up 0.02 inches of rain with area thundershowers. A frontal boundary is set to move through later in the morning, and will drop our temperatures down from the mid-80’s over the weekend to temperatures that will struggle to make it into the 70’s by mid-week. A high pressure system that is setting up to our west will keep us dry, but a north wind over the next several days will keep our temperatures at or below average through the weekend. The latest computer models are suggesting another big fall push starting next Sunday. The jet stream likely will usher in a large batch of cool air for early next week, which may keep our temperatures cooler than average for a while. For the short-term, look for typical fall weather of cool overnights and daytime highs in the low to mid 70’s. Our rain chances for this week will remain low, although next week you can expect to see some rain showers early on … if the latest data holds up!
