Former KU student inspired by Tom Cruise’s antics

¢ Paul Shoulberg, a former KU student now at the University of Indiana, has written a play inspired by the now-infamous Tom Cruise couch-jumping incident, the Indiana Daily Student says._ “Watching Tom Cruise on Oprah, (I realized) these people are absolutely crazy. They’re psychopaths,” Shoulberg said of celebrities. “These people are really disturbed.”_¢ Justin Gatlin’s positive doping test at Lawrence’s Kansas Relays continues to get mentions in the media. This time, the mention was made because the 100-meter-dash record holder attended practice with the Houston Texans on Tuesday, Allheadlinenews.com reports._The positive doping test came after a race in Lawrence, Kansas on April 22. The ban was given to Gatlin in August, and although he can still appeal the ban, he is likely to be stripped of recognition for his record-setting run._¢ Adrian Holovaty, a former World Company Web programmer now at the Washington Post, gets accolades in the American Journalism Review. Dan Cox, director of new media for the Journal-World, is quoted in the story, calling Holovaty “creative and stunningly smart, almost to a scary degree.”
