KU prof’s take on Robert Gates

¢ Felix Moos, a KU anthropology professor, is quoted in a USA Today story about Robert Gates’ confirmation hearing to be secretary of defense. Moos says his experience as president of Texas A&M University provided a good test for his new position._”He undertook big changes, and evidently did it with good nature and without too many bad feelings,” says Felix Moos, an anthropology professor at the University of Kansas and an adviser to the intelligence community._¢ A new online magazine, edited by KU communication studies professor Joann Keyton, is setting out to explain how communication affects everyday life, according to a press release._”Communication Currents is a vehicle for helping the public and the media understand the breadth of what communication scholars do and for exposing the contributions of communication scholars to a wider audience,” said Editor Joann Keyton of the University of Kansas. “Being selected as the founding editor of Communication Currents is such a fantastic opportunity to help strengthen the bridge between the communication discipline and the public.”_
