Law enforcement report Burglaries and thefts reported ¢ An Alvamar Golf Course employee reported a burglary and criminal damage occurred Feb. 4 at the business at 1800 Crossgate Drive. About $1,600 worth of alcohol and a 32-inch RCA television were stolen. Two glass windows were damaged. The total estimated loss is $2,929. The crime occurred between 5 p.m. Feb. 3 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 4.Emergency calls Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical reported these responses: Fire calls ¢ Medical transfer, 12:14 p.m. Monday, 325 Maine St. ¢ Person in distress, 12:38 a.m. Tuesday, 3017 W. 27th St. ¢ Assist person, 7:19 a.m. Tuesday, 3017 W. 27th St. ¢ Medical transfer, 2:50 p.m. 325 Maine St. ¢ Motor vehicle accident, 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, Haskell Avenue and East 19th Street. ¢ Medical transfer, 5:26 p.m. Tuesday, 325 Maine St. ¢ Alarm system activation, 12:51 a.m. Wednesday, 1800 Engel Rd.

Not like it matters. Alvamar is robbing all of us all the time. Just so a few elitist can hit a little ball with a stick and then drive a cart to it and hit it again under the pretext that it is some form of legitimate sport (in context of excersize).

Oh come on Bear, you are making a very general statement about a lot of people that live near Alvamar. I am sure many of those people do many great things for Lawrence and many are not elitist. And apparently you have never played a round of golf in your life. There is real exercise in the sport if you walk. Not everyone drives. Your comment is a little over the top and prejudicial.
