Stolen truck found, burned and destroyed

Law enforcement report¢ Lawrence Police responded to a report of a truck on fire at 2032 W. 27th St. at 5:14 a.m. Thursday. According to their report, officers found an Aquila truck that was stolen from the Aquila warehouse at 620 E. Eiggth St., burned and destroyed. The estimated value of the truck is $23,060. While on scene, Lawrence Police notified Aquila personnel. An Aquila supervisor reported the warehouse and office had been burglarized. Police found damage and property loss at the warehouse. The loss and damage at the warehouse is estimated at $36,900. According to the report, the suspects remain unidentified and the investigation is ongoing.¢ According to a Kansas University Police report, pieces computer equipment worth a total of $16,400 was removed from three rooms in Haworth Hall between Oct. 26 and Oct. 29. A top-loading balance and a Visible Spectrophotometer each valued at $8,000 and the $400 steel cart were reported missing.Emergency calls Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical reported the following responses: ¢ Authorized controlled burning, 4:47 a.m. Wednesday, 923 Essex Court. ¢ Natural vegetation fire, 2:01 p.m. Wednesday, 701 Wakarusa Dr. ¢ Outside equipment fire, 2:38 p.m. Wednesday, 747 Ky. ¢ Motor vehicle accident, 6:41 p.m. Wednesday, Maine and West Sixth streets.
