Woman injured in early morning car accident

A 20-year-old Lenexa woman taken to the hospital after being injured during an early morning accident outside a downtown bar.The woman was struck by a car in front of The Bottleneck, 737 N.H., at 1:52 a.m. Friday. When police arrived, the woman was lying in the center of the street. She reported that she was walking eastbound on New Hampshire, when she was hit by a northbound vehicle.Witnesses identified the driver, a 27-year-old Lawrence man, and said he had fled the scene. Police later contacted him, citing him failure to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident. The 20-year-old woman was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where she was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.Further information about her condition was not immediately available.
