Two arrested in overnight robberies

Three Lawrence businesses were robbed within three hours of each other early Tuesday morning. Two transient men were arrested by Lawrence Police early Tuesday in connection to one robbery and one attempted robbery at two Lawrence Kwik Shop convenience stores. The two were arrested following the second incident.Around 1:42 a.m., at the Kwik Shop location at 1846 Mass., one suspect took items from the cooler, while the other man went to the register, threatened the clerk and took an undisclosed amount of cash.Frank Lee Dean, 22, and Michael John Brinkman, 30, were arrested immediately following the second incident, an attempted robbery at the Kwik Shop at 845 Miss. St., around 3:39 a.m.Police are still searching for another robbery suspect who robbed the International House of Pancakes,3102 Iowa, around midnight Tuesday. Police report that a 5-foot, 7-inch tall black male between 20 and 25 years old, wearing a white T-shirt, shorts and glasses stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register.
