Lawrence police are investigating a possible aggravated battery

Lawrence police are investigating a possible aggravated battery that occurred at 1:44 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of New Hampshire. The officer who responded to the call observed a laceration to the hand of the victim, a Topeka man, and called Lawrence Douglas County Fire and Medical to the scene. The victim, who refused treatment, said that he had been standing on the west side of the second floor at Last Call, when another victim, a 28-year-old man, was struck in the head with a bottle. Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical located the second victim and treated his injuries. No arrests have been made in the incident. Burglaries and thefts reported At 2:31 a.m. Monday, Lawrence Police were called to 704 Eagle Pass for a burglary in progress. A neighbor was out walking his dog and noticed juvenile males in the area. One of the juveniles was coming out of a neighbor’s garage carrying golf clubs. The neighbor chased the suspect and ordered him to drop the clubs. He did so and ran off. The victim, who told police he had left his garage door open for ventilation, also noticed he was missing a case of CDs. The suspects were not located.
