Man in critical condition following accident

A motorcyclist hit by a car around 10 p.m. Monday is in critical condition at a Kansas City-area hospital.Joseph K. Pfortmiller, 53, was riding a motorcycle west on Kansas Highway 10 when he collided with a 1996 Ford Contour traveling north on East Hills Drive.He was transferred to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.Lillian W. Sheain, 23, of Lawrence was the driver of the Contour. Pfortmiller was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. No citations have been issued at this time.
