If you're going to report stolen vehicles in Lawrence from now on, maybe you should report ALL stolen vehicles in the LJ World. My car was stolen in November of last year, and there was no notification to the public at all. I dont know, I guess I just think it seems a little unfair to me.

How many > $10k cars get stolen every day?

On the other hand, this one might be worth mentioning to the general public. Slightly better odds than saying "we're looking for a stolen 2004 beige Camry". But, it's not like it's probably crusing the streets. It's either disassembled or in a garage waiting to get disassembled.

I almost wish someone would steal my Kia. Take my advice...NEVER buy a KIA.

hey nadshots, maybe the man contacted the paper, not the other way around. HE felt it was important people know, so he took the steps to get noticed. Maybe you should look towards your own actions before pleading for "fairness" in reporting, ie: the sqeaky wheel gets the grease.

Modifications or Performance upgrades shouldn't matter either way. My car actually was a performance car and had a brand new racing motor in it. It's all the same, someone's car get's stolen, they're going to be upset about it, even if it is a "2004 beige Camry".

hah, esq, that's exactly my case! that is they'd steal it&return it with an apology note-IF they could figure out the quirk it takes to get the darn thing started! ;) AND how to close the driver's door!
