Four arrested for drugs over the weekend

Four people were arrested for suspected drug violations in Lawrence this weekend.Police arrested two men after a traffic stop on the 2700 block of Iowa while they were driving along the eastern access road.During the stop, police found marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms and cocaine – some in amounts and packaging enough to suspect intent to sell, said Sgt. Bill Cory, a department spokesman.One man was arrested for intent to sell, and the other was arrested for conspiracy to sell drugs. Both were booked into Douglas County Jail on Sunday.Later Sunday, another man was arrested after police were called to a house on the 200 block of West 10th Street after residents suspected someone was selling drugs from the home.One man, listed as having a transient address, was arrested for possession of marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.In a separate incident, police were called to Hastings Books Music and Videos, 1900 W. 23rd Street, and found a Lawrence man who was suspected of shoplifting, Cory said.Police called in a Douglas County narcotics dog and found both marijuana and methamphetamines. The man was arrested for possession with intent to sell meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property.
