Plea made in Lecompton murder

!A Topeka man pleaded guilty today to the murder of 77-year-old Lecompton resident Clarence David Boose.Leonard Wayne Price, a repeat burglar nicknamed “Battle Axe,” made the plea after admitting he broke into Boose’s residence, a burglary in which Boose was shot once in the head. In exchange for the plea, the state dropped the underlying charge of aggravated burglary, and Price agreed to testify in any further court proceedings in Boose’s murder.Although no other charges have yet been filed, Price in court today implicated his cousin, Allen D. Smith, as the man who shot Boose during the April 2005 burglary.
