Men arrested following robbery


Law enforcement report¢ Police arrested three men from Leavenworth and Lansing following a robbery around 1:51 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Ohio Street. Witnesses told police they saw three men flee the residence as police arrived. A male victim located inside the residence had been battered, but refused medical treatment. At least three people were inside the residence at the time of the incident and two of them said their wallets had been taken. Officers recovered some of the property belonging to the victims, including one wallet, a laptop computer and other items. Second St.¢ Smoke coming from stove vent pipe, 8:13 p.m. Wednesday, 406 N. Seventh St.¢ Passenger vehicle fire, 8:41 p.m. Wednesday, 1504 Powers St. ¢ Motor vehicle accident, 10:24 p.m. Wednesday, Iowa and West Ninth streets.

Great job LPD! I hope we see some follow up information LJW. The crime occured only 3 blocks or so from the wet shelter and in broad daylight. I know it's jumping to a conclusion, get over it. It is unfortunately going to take a real tragedy happening to someone before this town really wakes up and tries to deal with the problem.
